Employee Story
Lulzim Sadiku, Production Employee
A company that stands by its employees
Lulzim Sadiku is originally from Albania and works as a production employee in the grinding department at BIRN Germany. He started working at BIRN Germany in 2018, and his way to a permanent contract has not been without difficulties.
- Due to the situation in Albania, my family and I fled to Germany, and to show my gratitude I wanted to contribute my labor in this new country. Fortunately, an employment agency helped me find the job at BIRN Germany, explains Lulzim Sadiku.
In the grinding department, Lulzim Sadiku contributes with efficient, high-quality work, making him an indispensable employee at BIRN Germany. Unfortunately, he suffered a stroke one year into his employment and had to take sick leave for several weeks to recover.
- The stroke was a shock to my family and me, and on top of that, we were also told to leave Germany as Albania was declared safe again, he says.
Lulzim Sadiku found himself in an uncertain situation, but due to his hard-working efforts and extraordinary skills that were highly
appreciated at his workplace, BIRN Germany helped him and his family so that he could obtain a permanent residence permit. A solution that was beneficial for both Lulzim Sadiku and BIRN Germany.
Since the fixed-term employment contract that Lulzim Sadiku received in 2019 was not enough to completely prevent deportation, BIRN Germany offered him a permanent employment contract.
- I was very grateful for the permanent employment contract, which meant that my family and I could stay in Germany. It also felt like an acknowledgement of my work, he says.
In the grinding department, where Lulzim Sadiku currently works, he supports the production of VTP pulleys, which are first grinded, then quality checked and eventually reworked. He puts his heart and soul into grinding and focuses very much on the quality of his work.
- It’s fair to say that working here is my dream job. BIRN Germany is a diverse workplace, and I appreciate the teamwork and cohesion within the department and the company. I can sense the company's full support for my next goal, which is to obtain German citizenship.
