Great opportunities for further education at BIRN Germany

Anja Bongard-HohlAnja Bongard-Hohl is the team leader for finance and HR at BIRN Germany. She started working with the company in 2016 with a one-year contract to begin with. After her first year she received an unlimited contract and is still very happy with her job.

- I started in accounting and took over for another colleague who retired. Today, I work on both monthly and annual statements, HR, payrolls, and finances. I really like everything about working at BIRN Germany. It’s a very supportive working environment, and both colleagues and management support and help each other. We’re a small company and very familiar with each other - I like that, says Anja Bongard-Hohl.

One thing she highlights as particularly positive about BIRN Germany is the possibility for further education.

Over the past couple of years, Anja Bongard-Hohl has taken various educational programs and courses—always with great support from the company.

- If you ask for it or if it’s necessary for you to perform your job in the best way, we have great opportunities for further education and training at BIRN Germany. There is a great understanding of the importance of developing your skills throughout your career, and there is support in terms of flexibility - so you can sometimes leave earlier when you have class or assignments, explains Anja Bongard-Hohl.

The options for continuing education can be both internal within the BIRN Group - with the parent company in Denmark and subsidiaries in Germany, Sweden, and Italy - or through external providers. Either way, Anja Bongard-Hohl encourages her colleagues to pursue.

- Everyone should consider what they would like to do with their job and how they can develop in it in an even more interesting direction. As part of a group, we also have access to a wealth of shared knowledge and experiences across companies and departments, which I really appreciate, she says.
